Hope is Not Cancelled (2022) took place at Can's Gallery in Jakarta, Indonesia.
Hope is Not Cancelled was a solo exhibition by Arti Gidwani reflecting on the emotional journey of the COVID-19 pandemic through ceramic sculpture and pottery. Created during a period of isolation and uncertainty, the works explored themes of resilience, vulnerability, humor, and collective hope. Using traditional ceramic techniques influenced by both Indian and Indonesian craft traditions, Arti transformed personal experiences of fear, reflection, and endurance into expressive handmade forms filled with color, energy, and optimism. The exhibition became both a personal act of healing and a reminder of shared human connection during difficult times.
